A study made by BreastCancer.org revealed that every three minutes a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. More than 215,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
All though researchers and doctors all over the planet are constantly working to find a cure for breast cancer, the discovery of the solution is yet to come.
But even though research has come a long way in the prevention of breast cancer, there is a lot of people out there that are still uninformed about how to protect themselves against this disease.
That`s why it is important to bring awareness to breast cancer and that`s why there is a whole month dedicated to it.
This is what October is all about! It`s breast cancer awareness month and it is symbolized with a pink ribbon.
This month is filled with different activities to help people learn about the disease. One of the events is the popular 3-day Breast Cancer Walk. This is a series of 60 mile walks over 3 days and it takes place every year in various cities around the United States.
It has raised millions of dollars for breast cancer research and also allows breast cancer survivors, their families, and friends a chance to walk together to raise breast cancer awareness.
So if you want to contribute, why not inform your friends, family, and colleagues about this event when we`re getting close to October. Give out flyers and encourage them to train and be ready for a walk that step by step will help saving lives.
The most important thing you can do is to raise awareness everywhere you go! Remember, you are spreading an important message!
The pink ribbon is an international symbol for breast cancer awareness and whenever you wear it you`ll express moral support for the victims of this disease.
You will honor the survivors, those lost to the disease, and support the progress we are making together to defeat breast cancer.
So please, help us symbolize this month!
